With same high-performance trail running features, the GORE-TEX XCR bootie makes the shoe all the more versatile. David Horton, an ultrarunning legend and one of the few people ever to finish the Barkley 100, uses the Hurricane extensively in training and mountain excursions. He likes its protection (from the elements as well as the trail), traction, and supportive fit. The Hurricane features an XCR bootie with Montrail's patented stretch tongue construction for a sock-like fit. The combination of the IntegraFit shape and the welded reinforcement on the upper, provides great arch and midfoot support. With the sawtooth sole traction story and ultra-stable (and m edially posted) midsole, this shoe can support long miles of running or hiking with heavy loads. The forefoot and toe box are good for wide feet, but the arch and heel of any foot will be held comfortably and securely. Flexible, aggressive sawtooth tread provides unsurpassed traction on wet, snowy and slippery trails. Patented Stretch-Fit GORE-TEX tongue eliminates gusset-fold pressure to maintain comfort over long distances. Soft TPU overlays are flexible, yet still enhance the shoe's durability and abrasion resistance. XCR lining is more breathable than traditional GORE-TEX linings, and is perfect for high-exertion activities. Shoe weighs 14 oz.
